1. What emotions or thoughts did you experience as you heard this Scripture read through at the beginning of the message? Why do you think you responded the way you did?

2. When you think stereotypically about pastors and leaders of the church, do you generally have suspicions about them or do you tend to naturally trust them? Why do you think that's the case?

3. Have you been hurt by the news of a famous or influential pastor or leader who did not end well? Share why that was difficult for you.

4. Have you been hurt by your local church leadership at any point in your Christian life? Share the story. Why do you think things were not handled better?

5. What do you think are some of the main reasons that pastors who start well don't always finish well? What goes wrong along the way?
