Discussion Questions

1. Interact with the statement "everything sad is untrue." Do you think that is a true statement? What qualifiers are important for you to express?

2. The women at the tomb had "fear and great joy," and the eleven disciples "worshipped but some doubted." How have you felt, experienced, or navigated the tension of seemingly contradictory thoughts?

3. When experiencing the tension from question 2, how do you not succumb to the negative thought and contend for the right response?

4. In John 11, Jesus weeps with Mary and gives hope to Martha. What does that dual response from Jesus mean for us when we are navigating suffering in life? Which ministers to you more? Why do you think that is?

5. The "Great Commission" is a famous evangelism and missions passage, how do you see that flowing from the event of the Resurrection? What are the implications of this?

6. How do you do with "going and making disciples" in your particular context? Where do you struggle and where have you seen success or growth?
