Sermon Discussion Guide: 10/11/26
Sermon Recap
Title: Who is He? Who are we?
Text: Matthew 27:1-26
The most important thing in life is your answer to 2 questions: Who is He? and Who are we?
Discussion Questions
1. How do you see the world acting as if Jesus is either a "liar" or a "lunatic"?
2. Have you known anyone to walk away from Jesus because of something difficult that happened in their life? Have you ever felt that temptation?
3. Is it hard to think that anger at God for something bad in your life is a reflection of not having Him as your chief love in the first place? Do you disagree with this? Think through this as a group.
4. What ingredients in life can lead to or foster a sort of spiritual apathy in your life and relationship with God? (Reminder: We all know what apathy is like!)
5. Do you naturally people-please, go along with the crowd, etc., and have a difficulty standing firm for truth or convictions in the face of disagreement or opposition?
6. What practices or lessons have you acquired over time to keep the Gospel fresh and real to your heart and life?
7. What can you do this next week to prepare your heart to rightly meditate on the crucifixion of Jesus, the next passage to be preached?
