Sermon Recap
Text: Psalm 30
Big Idea: God is at work in your life to put a song in your soul!
Summary: Psalm 30 is a song of praise for God's deliverance. Woven throughout the psalm is acknowledgment of pain that David experienced during some trial—possibly as a response to the affliction that came from his sin of taking a census. Thus, various statements of anguish are uttered, but as a platform to testify of God's deliverance. David prays for help, and God answers.
The song of praise that David sings is one that can only be sung through the trials of fire. At times, the Lord will strip all away so that we learn to lean and depend upon Him. David became proud and complacent in his prosperity, and neglected his soul in the process. The discipline of God was the means of restoring David to a right relationship wit the Lord. The pain produced a song of gladness because the pain is temporary, but the joy that comes in the morning is eternal.

2. Do you see in any trial how God was using it to teach you or correct you in some way to restore your relationship with Him?
3. How have any of your struggles or sufferings become a platform for testifying of God's deliverance?
4. In what ways have you come to know God that you otherwise would not have known if you hadn't walked through pain?
5. How do you see the Gospel transforming the way we interpret our pain?
6. Have you experienced a trial when God didn't deliver, at least not how you had hoped?
7. How does eternity change the perspective of our suffering here and now?
